Chlor-Alkali (HCl) Products
Industrial-scale production of Hydrochloric Acid (HCl) and Sulfuric Acid (H2SO4) requires high thermal efficiency and extreme corrosion resistance. The combination of heat transfer of acids, compounds, or vaporized fluids and the resultant mechanical loads, and fouling, also dramatically affects the chemical process vessels’ mechanical integrity. An inherent problem of maintaining uniform continuity of fluid throughout the transit from point A to point B, and the presence of deposits, or residues, brings to the forefront several additional unique challenges for both the designer and the fabricator alike.
The extreme requirements outlined above can only be addressed by applying science, experience, and robust, time-and-field-tested heat transfer solutions offered by Apex Engineered Products.
Subsequently, the Materials Science solutions are multifold and can include the application of metal alloys, like nickel-based superalloys (C-276 alloy or the Inconel® series of materials) or reactive metals (Titanium, Zirconium, Tantalum). Similarly, considerable cost savings can be achieved by applying unique explosion-clad materials offered through our relationship with NobelClad. Another approach is the application of Graphite or Apex’s innovative application of the TurboTube® (Patent Pending) solutions.
